The steps.
- 01AM
Salicylic acid 2% cleanser
60 seconds, lukewarm water
Salicylic dwells in the pore long enough to do useful keratolytic work even in a 60-second cleanser. The trick is to actually leave it on for those 60 seconds — not the seven seconds people use for a foaming wash. Once daily in the morning is plenty; twice strips the barrier within a fortnight.

Niacinamide 4–10% serum
Sebum + post-inflammatory tone
The single most-replicated 'do-no-harm' active in adult acne. Reduces sebum production modestly, evens post-inflammatory tone meaningfully, and pairs cleanly with everything else in the stack. Apply to damp skin, two pumps, then wait sixty seconds before moisturiser.

Lightweight gel moisturiser
Non-comedogenic, fragrance-free
Acne-prone skin is rarely as oily as it feels — most people are dehydrated and over-stripping. A light gel moisturiser, applied to slightly damp skin after the niacinamide, prevents the rebound oil that follows a too-aggressive cleansing routine.

Zinc-only SPF 50 fluid
PA++++, no chemical filters
Chemical filters can sting on barrier-irritated, retinoid-using or BPO-treated skin. A modern zinc-only fluid avoids the sting without sacrificing UVA protection. Two finger-lengths, every morning, including weekends and the monsoon.
