When to reach for it.

  • Melasma maintenance

Daily Mexoryl 400 + niacinamide is the closest off-the-shelf melasma defence.

  • Post-laser pigmentation

Months 2-12 after pigment laser. Critical that PPD stays high.

  • Daily commute on Indian skin

Fluid finish, faint cast even on Type V/VI. Reapplies cleanly under makeup.

Frequently asked.

Is the niacinamide actually useful?

Yes — at 4%, it's at the dose proven to reduce melanosome transfer in 8-12 week trials. It won't replace a tranexamic acid serum, but it's a free anti-pigment bonus inside the SPF.

How does it compare with UVMune 400?

UVMune has a higher PPD and a slightly more elegant skin feel. UV-Age Daily adds the niacinamide bonus and a niacinamide-trained vehicle. Pigment-prone patients usually prefer UV-Age Daily; everyone else marginally prefers UVMune.

Can I layer my vitamin C under it?

Yes — let the C sink in for 5 minutes. The two are complementary, not redundant. C handles the small dose of UV that gets through; the SPF blocks the rest.

Does it pill under makeup?

Less than mineral SPFs but more than UVMune. Apply, wait 90 seconds, then pat foundation — don't rub.
